Emergency Medical Services (EMS) carry medications and critical items to provide medical care in the event of an emergency and during transport.  EMS agencies are required to comply with both federal and state regulations.

The Protecting Patient Access to Emergency Medications Act of 2017 amended the federal Controlled Substances Act of 1970 to include EMS and eliminate confusion between states. EMS agencies are required to store, track, and dispose of controlled substances. In addition to DEA compliance,  states have established standards for accountability and set minimum requirements for inventory, record keeping, and management of controlled substances in accordance with the DEA and their own state regulations.

All of our portable lock boxes provide secure storage and feature a keyless electronic push-button lock, a safety backup override key, an extended battery life of 75,000 cycles, a low battery indicator, convenient battery installation/removal, and the flexibility to change out the lock without purchasing a new one.
